In what has been the hottest and driest May in over a century in the UK, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we’ve had a bumper solar month, smashing our all-time solar PV production record in the process.
April was a ridiculously sunny and pleasant month. We had a lot of blue sky with very little cloud cover, and this reflected in our solar PV production leading to…
Our 6.16kW solar PV array was tried and tested during the spring and summer. With autumn behind us, it’s time to see how well our array has done with shorter days and the sun lower in the sky.
We hit a milestone on our solar PV system today by producing 5 MWh of electricity since March. This means we’ve saved pumping 1,275kg (almost 1.3 tonnes) of CO2 into the atmosphere.
When we had our solar PV panels and SolarEdge inverter installed, I thought that the SolarEdge app would simply tell you how much energy we’ve generated (which it does), but it also provides realtime data on self consumption and export, and the app has become a hugely important tool in helping us to understand and evaluate our home energy usage.
