First decent rainfall in six weeks

by Mars

Given that we live in the UK, I never thought I’d be thankful to see some rain. It’s the first decent rainfall we’ve had in six weeks (after the hottest and driest May in over a century) and our garden, orchard, field, grass and veg patch really needed a good soak.

There’s also some rain forecast for the next few days (well over 10mm), which will hamper solar production, but I’m completely OK with that because we’ve spent a small fortune on watering our vegetables, fruit trees and flowers recently. This should give everything in our garden a new lease on life.

And talk about schizophrenic weather. Yesterday was a toasty 23C and we enjoyed a lovely barbecue with free range chicken and pork from Field & Flower.

Today it’s raining with a 12C max.
