Our year outdoors and in the garden

by Kirsten

Taking a look back at 2021, we spent a lot of it outdoors and in the garden. I always find it motivating to see all the seasons, one after the other, and just how different the garden looks at different times of the year, especially now when things are not looking their best – but it really lifts me up seeing the proof that the garden will be bursting with life again in a few short months.

It has taken us three gardening years to get the garden finally looking like our own space and how we want, and I am extremely excited for 2022 to see it bloom and start growing again.

It is so easy for each of the years to blend into each other and though this video took Mars hours to put together, I just love it.

It is so wonderful to see what really happened just in these last 12 months. Mars played his DIY gardener role for me again this year building the cold frame and oak raised beds for my dahlias, but I think he feels his biggest successes were making innovative home brews.

For me, it was definitely seeing daffodils growing in the front garden and having a vibrant summer filled with dahlias.

On that note, I hope that you all have a wonderful end to 2021 and a safe, healthy and happy start to 2022.
