My inspiration for gardening came from my grandfather who was a very passionate, amateur gardener. A few years ago we inherited all his gardening tools, many of which were decades old and it reminded us of a time when tools were built to last the lifetime of the gardener and required upkeep and maintenance.
Our experience until recently was quite the opposite. We had purchased what we thought were quality tools, only to have them break after a few months or years – in fact, I remember one that only lasted a couple of weeks before falling to pieces.
