We use a peat-free alternative to compost

When we purchased the property, we found two old, heavy iron wall baskets in the garage and we decided to hang them up as flower baskets at the front of the house. Instead of using compost and soil, Coco & Coir sent us a 54 litre bag of Coco Grow to try out. It is made from natural coir pith-based substrate and is a sustainable alternative to using compost.

This growing medium increases porosity which is what ultimately ensures that ‘soil’ remains loose and airy, assisting in plant root growth and development.

Watch Kirsten prepare the Coco Grow and plant out the new baskets.
