Planting our final tulip and allium bulbs

As the end of the year rapidly approaches, we have planted out the rest of our spring bulbs. Because the squirrels and rabbits in the field go crazy for tulip bulbs, we’ve planted the tulip bulbs in pots that will give the back garden an explosion of colour this spring. As for the allium bulbs, they’ve gone in around the vegetable garden and they’ll also line the driveway.

Our tulip and allium bulbs are from Dutch Grown and the tulip varieties we’ve planted this year are Amazing Grace, Apricot Parrot, Double Sugar, Verona Sunrise, Double Shake and the popular Frizzle Sizzle collection.

As for the alliums, we’ve planted Bulgaricum, Gladiator, Globemaster, Graceful Beauty, Schuberti and Summer Drummer. I’m really looking forward to the Gladiators and Globemasters flowering because they’re a great food source for bees.
