Kicking Grass: Mountfield Empress 51 Li

Having enjoyed trying out Stiga’s battery operated ride-on mower last month, we received Mountfield’s self-propelled Empress 51 Li battery operated lawn mower to review. While I enjoyed using the ride-on, I still like a push mower because it gives you a bit of workout and you have a more control when mowing around trees, bushes and in tight spaces.

And there’s a lot to like about this mower. It’s got a fixed forward speed of 3.7 kilometres per hour and has a generous 51cm cutting width, making it a contender for large garden. Since this is the biggest mower in Mountfield’s Freedom range, we weren’t content with just testing it on our manicured grass, and we also put it to work on our field. To find out how it did, check out our video review.
