Keeping an eye on our wildlife

We are fortunate to be surrounded by wildlife and on a daily basis we see pheasants, ducks, rabbits and moorhens. We have glimpsed some more unusual animals like stoats, foxes and badgers, but we’ve never been able to capture them on camera, so we’ve wanted to try a trail camera for some time.

We were extremely excited when we were contacted by the team from Pakatak (on an online retailer specialising in wildlife cameras and surveillance equipment) who sent us a Bushwhacker D3N trail camera, SD card and a pack of four Panasonic Eneloop Pro 2500mA Rechargeable AA batteries.

The D3N is a robust, well-designed trail camera that is extremely easy to use, and we were generally very pleased with its performance, which we discuss in the video below.

We would like to thank Pakatak once again for sending us this camera to try, and we’d strongly recommend checking out their website if you’re in the market for a trail camera (or other cameras and consumer electronics they sell for that matter). Their level of customer was excellent, and their recommendations for things like the batteries was extremely helpful.

We are continuing to experiment with the camera, and we’re still patiently waiting to capture some of the more elusive animals – when we do, we’ll compile a separate, dedicated video.
