Our first ever veg patch – part five – planting veg plugs and installing the gate on sloping land

Our veg patch is now very, very close to being completed. In this installment, we plant some of the veg plugs we’ve received from Marshalls and get around to installing the gate on sloping land.

This project has had its fair share of tricky moments, but installing the gate on sloping land so that it’s low enough to keep rabbits out was very tricky. I’d googled solutions and came up with no real answers so I pulled out an assortment of tools and got stuck in.

I’ve already expressed my disappointment with Marshalls in an earlier post, and in this episode we plant the veg plugs (salad leaves, runner beans, brussel sprouts and leeks) and Maris Piper seed potatoes that have arrived.
