We eat a lot of vegetables, and since we’ve moved to the countryside we’ve been experimenting with what we can successfully grow ourselves. Over the summer, we grew Isobel onions from seed, and they were extremely flavoursome and a bug success. We purchased a bag of Taylor’s Electric onions from our local garden centre, a winter onion, to get an early harvest next year.
We love garlic, and today we’re going down the road of growing our own. The plan earlier this year was to plant out a 9x9m area in our field with garlic. For several reasons that we’re not going to go into, I’ve decided to scale this down.
Today we’re going to make a delicious homemade parsley sauce to go with our plaice fillets, which is a great summer meal and very easy to make. On the side, we’re going to have long stem broccoli, buttery parsley potatoes and asparagus, but you can use any other vegetables that you like to have with fish.
Shortly after moving into our new house, we established a delicious tradition: pizza movie night on Saturdays. This has allowed us to experiment with our dough and come up with an awesome homemade stuffed crust pizza, and we’re sharing our recipe and technique with you. Follow our step-by-step video to making our delicious pizza.
